This accession consists of a photocopy of the 1908–1909 Moore’s Standard Directory of Greencastle, Indiana, donated in 1998 by Clifton J. Phillips, a member of the DePauw University History Department from 1954 to 1984. The original directory was published in 1908–1909; this accession contains a 1998 photocopy reproduction comprising thirty-eight pages. The directory documents residential and commercial activity in Greencastle, Indiana, including house and business addresses, business advertisements, and listings of city and county officers. It also includes information on local churches, fire alarm box locations, post office operations including carriers and mail train schedules, telephone and telegraph rates, business directories, and a list of DePauw University students with their addresses. This accession is a photocopied reproduction of a published directory and does not contain original manuscript material.
